ALT Virtualization 10 – is a server distribution based on the Linux kernel to provide virtualization and containerization functions in corporate infrastructure.
ALT Virtualization 10 provides four main installation types:
- basic KVM hypervisor;
- OpenNebula cloud virtualization;
- platform for enterprise virtualization PVE;
- container virtualization (Docker/Podman);
Both PVE and OpenNebula provide the opportunity to migrate organizations' IT infrastructures to import-substituting software, successfully replacing products such as Hyper-V and VMware (VMware vSphere is being replaced by PVE, VMware vCloud is being replaced by OpenNebula).
The distribution is included into the Unified Register of Russian Programs for Electronic Computers and Databases of the Ministry of Digital Development, Communications and Mass Media of the Russian Federation (under number: 6487). The distribution’s features are listed at the website of the vendor – Basealt LLC.
According to the license a downloaded version of the distribution can be used freely by physical persons only. Legal persons can use it for testing purposes, but it is necessary to purchase licenses or make a license agreement in writing in order to officially use it.
